I am the oldest grandaughter, Timika, of my grandmother. I am the daughter of her third child and oldest daughter. I am my mother's oldest of three children and her only daughter. I come from a generation of intecessors.
Although I was born in Massachusettes, my mother will tell you I was born to be southern. I mean who else in Boston would call their mother "ma" instead of "mother or mum?" I often added a southern "twang" to my words and people often would just stare when I opened my mouth.
I came to live permanently with my grandmother on my 9th birthday. Although at the time I was angry and didn't understand why I had to leave my mother and brother and also my father to come to the country and one horse town as I referred to it I now know why. In this life we were all born with a purpose and destiny that God instilled in us. I was fortunate enough to have a grandmother who not only heard the voice of God speaking to her to bring me into her home to protect my spirit but also did it without complaint.
I know that my grandmother's prayers have kept me out of hell many, many times. By and by as my children are growing up I understand the purpose and power of prayer and the undying faith in the impossible.
